Overthinking| Are you addicted to it?

                                                 OVERTHINKING

“There is nothing in this world that can trouble you as much as your own thoughts”

Thinking is good however when we overdo this process without any action or outcomes, we are wasting our time and energy which can get us into trouble.

The whole process of “Overthinking” can be so addictive, many don’t realise it. Research has proven that overthinking does not induce solutioning. It’s a misguided act of self-preservation.

It’s time to think less, be more mindful and act more because your actions will lead you to living that life that you need or desire. With time and willingness “Overthinking” is a habit that we all can overcome or break.

So, do you see yourself in a state of inaction??Yes??Keep reading!

Here are 3 simple waysto kickstart the process of moving from “Inaction to Action” -:

  • Being Aware:

Be more aware of your thoughts. What do you think about on a daily basis? Only a minority of us take the time to go inward and reflect. Write down your thoughts, if you notice that the majority of your thoughts are negative or counterproductive in nature, it’s time to reprogram. The present moment is all you have, and yet, most people devalue it. Challenge your thoughts, your thinking. Practice separating yourself from your thoughts.

  • Practice Self-Love:

Respect yourself first, your body and mind. Be more mindful by asking yourself better questions.  By engaging in healthy mind activities, like meditation, yoga, journaling etc. ensures that one is less likely to fall into destructive thought patterns and is more aware of self. Pursuing your favorite hobby or activity that requires focus such as dance, poetry, reading, pottery helps.  Healthy habits, over time help train our brain to think differently so that overthinking is no longer a part of your life.

  • Being of Service to others:

By shifting our focus onto others, and how one can help them – can alleviate much of the emotional distress that comes with overthinking. Write down a list of people you know and ask yourself: how can I help and support them in what they want to accomplish? Also, look at ways you can contribute and give back to a charity or a good cause. Contribution is not only good for society, it’s good for the soul.

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” – Mahatma Gandhi

Commit to start with any or all of the above 3 simple steps and see the difference for yourself. Don’t postpone. The key to stop overthinking is to get onto ‘doing’ mode and you will start feeling confident and the results will follow.

What is that one step or way that you can work on from today that will get you out of your head? Action!!!!
